Escher is Pinotech Consulting Services’ Associate Consultant primarily responsible for Corporate Governance, Compliance Management and Ethics. His career in the corporate world has shaped him into a very high-performance and results-driven C-suite executive.
Commanding over fifteen (15) solid years of experience at a leading multi-billion-dollar retirement fund/financial services institution as Strategic Governance Advisor, this position has allowed him to work alongside the organisation’s key strategists. This was preceded by another three (3) successful years of strategic leadership at the Law Reform and Development Commission (LRDC where he occupied the role of Deputy Chief Legal Officer.
The past seven (7) years have exposed him to Non – Executive Directorship roles, as chair of two critical industry bodies, the Retirement Funds Institute of Namibia (RFIN) and the Namibia Institute of Corporate Governance (NICG), both of which grew exponentially under his leadership.
He has gained extensive local, regional, continental and global governance exposure, through roles on the Advisory Board of Business Ethics Network Africa (BEN Africa), the Code for Responsible Investing in South Africa (CRISA) Committee, the African Corporate Governance Network (ACGN) and the International Corporate Governance Network. He was recently admitted as a Chartered Director by the Institute of Directors in South Africa (IODSA).
He was conferred Fellowship status by the Mauritius Institute of Directors, one of the leading Governance Institutes on the continent. He is an independent Non-executive Director at the National Youth Service (NYS) and former Board Chairperson of Air Namibia as well as former Independent Director at Namforce Life Insurance. He serves on the Governance Committee of COSAFA
Escher has worked on a number of corporate governance assignments before for institutions such as, Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT), Erongo RED, Windhoek Country Club, Namibia Power Corporation (NamPower), Namibia Student Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF), Roads Authority (RA), Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), Namibia Post and Telecom Holdings (NPTH), the Namibia Sport Commission (NSC) and many others.
